On December 1, 2003 at the “Tokyo Dome” one of the biggest and most iconic performances in the history of t.A.T.u was held at the big concert stadium in Japan as part of the “Show Me Love Tour”.
The concert was attended by more than 50,000 people, this being the first in Tokyo of the Tour, since they had previously traveled throughout Japan to various television programs and events. This in turn served as a promotion for the two concerts in Tokyo at the end of the year.
Unlike most of their other appearances, for this performance t.A.T.u. sang exclusively live during their concerts at the Tokyo Dome singing a total of 13 songs, mostly from his first English debut album, some remixes and the premiere of the new song “Nichya” which was the first version that was known before officially released in 2005.
The five 800-inch screens showing close-ups of Lena and Julia and clips from the band’s music videos during the concert were a special feature. The screens are among the largest ever used in live concerts.
t.A.T.u. set an absolute sales record in Japan. They had the big record sales of legends of that country such as The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Madonna, more than 2,000,000 million copies of “200 Km/h In The Wrong Lane” were sold.
To date there is no complete professional recording of this performance and it’s said that a “Show Me Love World Tour” was later planned, which would take the duo to China, Russia and Latin America, among others, and was later canceled after concerts in Tokyo.
